This is a genuine BMW switch, part number 61 31 1 388 277. The number stamped on the part is 61311388277; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1388277. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Switch. It supersedes the older numbers 0422600 and 1388278, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 12 diagrams, among them Parking Brake Pedal (35_0167) and Cover f top case (46_0530). It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kits Retrofit kit, cool box in boot (2346760) and Retrofit, boot coolbox and accoutrements (2405446).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
