Genuine BMW part 32 42 1 312 196: Supporting bracket. The number stamped on the part is 32421312196; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1312196. You will find it on our Steering shelf, under Other Steering parts. It supersedes the older number 1278039, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 9 diagrams, among them Hydro Steering-Vane Pump/Bearing Support (32_0295) and Hydro Steering-Vane Pump/Bearing Support (32_0893). It weighs about 486 g (1.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
