Genuine BMW part 12 31 1 277 342: Supporting bracket. The number stamped on the part is 12311277342; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1277342. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Alternator with motor and mounting. It supersedes the older number 1274580, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 14 diagrams, among them Alternatormounting Parts (12_0166) and Alternatormounting Parts (12_1275). It weighs about 827 g (1.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
