This is a genuine BMW stud bolt, part number 07 12 9 908 105. The number stamped on the part is 07129908105; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9908105. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 12. It supersedes the older number 9908262, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 38 diagrams, among them Cylinder head (11_6081) and Cylinder Head/Intermediate Housing (11_0245). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Parts Set (7743797).
