This is a genuine BMW strainer tube, part number 34 32 1 165 341. The number stamped on the part is 34321165341; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1165341. You will find it on our Brakes shelf, under Brake lines. It supersedes the older number 0141363, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i, 330i and M3, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 14 diagrams, among them Brake Master Cylinder/Expansion Tank (34_0764) and Brake master cylinder DSC (34_0918). It weighs about 2 g (under 0.1 lb).
