Spring strut, front — a genuine BMW part, number 31 42 7 729 296. The number stamped on the part is 31427729296; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7729296. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Telescopic fork, Telelever. It supersedes the older number 7675103, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the Spring strut, front (31_0688) diagram. It weighs about 2.0 kg (4.3 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
