This is a genuine BMW snow chain BMW Comfort, part number 36 11 2 296 311. The number stamped on the part is 36112296311; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2296311. You will find it on our Wheels & Tires shelf, under Other Wheels parts. It supersedes the older numbers 0004471 and 0009739, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Snow chains (03_2892) and Snow chains (03_2895). It weighs about 5.6 kg (12 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
