This is a genuine BMW sill strip clip, part number 51 47 8 234 047. The number stamped on the part is 51478234047; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8234047. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 1928808, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan and touring (318i, 320i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits every E46 body style (316i, 316i 1.6, 316i 1.9, 316ti, 318d and 318i, 1997–2004), with the M43, M47, M47N, N40, N42 or N45 and other engines.

BMW draws it on 22 diagrams, among them Edge Protection/Rockers Covers (51_1510) and Edge Protection/Rockers Covers (51_1511).
