This is a genuine BMW shifting rod w/driving dog 3rd/4th gear, part number 23 31 1 228 377. The number stamped on the part is 23311228377; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1228377. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Inner gearshift parts. It supersedes the older number 1228379, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7525595.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 590 g (1.3 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
