Set wood strips — a genuine BMW part, number 82 25 9 404 238. The number stamped on the part is 82259404238; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9404238. You will find it on our Merchandise & Accessories shelf, under Other Universal Accessories parts. It supersedes the older number 9410297, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan (318i, 320i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M43, M50, M52 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Fine wood trim (03_0604) diagram. It weighs about 1.4 kg (3.0 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
