Set, Velcro-type fastener — a genuine BMW part, number 72 60 7 718 898. The number stamped on the part is 72607718898; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7718898. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Parts and accessories, body parts. It supersedes the older number 2313868, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 6 diagrams, among them Fuel Tank/Attaching Parts (16_0260) and Fuel Tank/Attaching Parts (16_0445). It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Adapter lead, rear light (7712418).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
