Set-top box — a genuine BMW part, number 65 50 0 406 957. The number stamped on the part is 65500406957; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 0406957. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Navigation system. It supersedes the older number 0301355, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i, 330i and M3, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or S54 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Retrofit kit Settop-Box (03_2295) diagram. It weighs about 770 g (1.7 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
