Set oil filter — a genuine BMW part, number 24 11 7 557 071. The number stamped on the part is 24117557071; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7557071. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearbox housing, oil sump. It supersedes the older number 7533657, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 2333825.
It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (316i 1.9, 318d, 318i, 320d, 320td and 330d, 1997–2004), with the M43, M47, M47N, M57 or M57N engines.
