The number stamped on the part is 11141438715; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1438715. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Housing cover. It supersedes the older number 1743480, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 2247867.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42 or M43 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 11 diagrams, among them Engine block mounting parts (11_0136) and Engine block mounting parts (11_0145). It weighs about 405 g (0.9 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
