Set, cargo rod — a genuine BMW part, number 51 71 9 120 978. The number stamped on the part is 51719120978; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9120978. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 7182682, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on the Side/tank trim panel/load bar (51_6214) diagram. It weighs about 3.3 kg (7.3 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
