Sensor mat, co-driver's airbag — a genuine BMW part, number 72 10 8 099 028. The number stamped on the part is 72108099028; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8099028. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Ski bag. It supersedes the older number 8235912, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 6921952.
It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Electric parts, airbag (65_0488) diagram. It weighs about 42 g (under 0.1 lb).
