Genuine BMW part 07 14 6 778 500: Self-locking hex nut. The number stamped on the part is 07146778500; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6778500. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 14. It supersedes the older numbers 0417906, 1152614 and 6756285, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 61 diagrams, among them Parking Brake/Brake Shoes (34_0768) and Parking Brake/Brake Shoes (34_1119). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted.
