This is a genuine BMW sealing front, part number 51 71 8 189 443. The number stamped on the part is 51718189443; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8189443. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older numbers 8172469 and 8172470, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, touring and compact (318i, 318ti, 320i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Outside mirror (51_2052) and Outside mirror (51_2053). It weighs about 1 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
