-- View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW screw, part number 23 41 1 338 639. The number stamped on the part is 23411338639; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1338639. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Outer gearshift parts. It supersedes the older number 2302233, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them External Shifting Parts/Shift Lever (23_0253) and Shift lever (23_0277). It weighs about 37 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
