Right tension strut with rubber mounting — a genuine BMW part, number 31 12 4 046 438. The number stamped on the part is 31124046438; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 4046438. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Other Front Axle parts. It supersedes the older number 6765996, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 6774826.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
