This is a genuine BMW right sliding piece, part number 54 12 8 185 204. The number stamped on the part is 54128185204; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8185204. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Sliding Roof / Folding Top parts. It supersedes the older number 1977486, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 8214656.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 55 g (0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
