Retrofit kit, CD-changer — a genuine BMW part, number 82 85 9 403 109. The number stamped on the part is 82859403109; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9403109. You will find it on our Merchandise & Accessories shelf, under Other Universal Accessories parts. It supersedes the older number 9401708, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (318i, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M50, M52 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Audio-System with CD-Changer (03_1238) and Audio-System with CD-Changer (03_1243). It weighs about 1.9 kg (4.2 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
