Repair kit piston rings — a genuine BMW part, number 11 25 7 511 699. The number stamped on the part is 11257511699; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7511699. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Piston with rings and pin. It supersedes the older number 7509218, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E46 body style (325i, 2001–2006), with the M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Crankshaft-Pistons (11_2925) and Crankshaft-Pistons (11_6242). BMW's catalog calls for six of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 20 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
