Repair kit f draft deflector lever — a genuine BMW part, number 54 12 8 186 798. The number stamped on the part is 54128186798; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8186798. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Sliding Roof / Folding Top parts. It supersedes the older numbers 8119893 and 8119894, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Slid.Lift. Roof-Cover/Ceiling Frame (54_0187) and Slid.Lift. Roof-Cover/Ceiling Frame (54_0189). It weighs about 66 g (0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
