Repair kit, expansion tank — a genuine BMW part, number 23 42 7 571 295. The number stamped on the part is 23427571295; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7571295. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 7507155, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E46 body style (325i and 330i, 2001–2006), with the M54 engine — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the GS6S37BZ(SMG) Expansion tank / Pump (23_0960) diagram. It weighs about 330 g (0.7 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
