Repair kit, aux. damper, protective tube — a genuine BMW part, number 33 50 2 290 319. The number stamped on the part is 33502290319; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2290319. You will find it on our Suspension shelf, under Self-levelling suspension. It supersedes the older number 6757368, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 sedan and compact (320i, 325i and 330xi, 2001–2005), with the M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Rear Spring Strut Mounting Parts (33_0841) and Repair kits, shock absorbers, rear (33_1669). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 130 g (0.3 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
