This is a genuine BMW relay, part number 12 63 1 729 005. The number stamped on the part is 12631729005; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1729005. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1711266, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1729004.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42 or M50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Relay, NO contact, white (61_4501) diagram. It weighs about 30 g (under 0.1 lb).
