This is a genuine BMW rectangring, part number 24 23 1 422 210. The number stamped on the part is 24231422210; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1422210. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1421112, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them A5s310z Drive Clutch E (24_0657) and A5s310z Drive Clutch E (24_1195). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 1 g (under 0.1 lb).
