Genuine BMW part 54 31 8 397 654: Rail center right. The number stamped on the part is 54318397654; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8397654. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Sliding Roof / Folding Top parts. It supersedes the older number 8410474, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Folding Top Mounting Parts (54_0194) and Hardtop Parts (54_0204). It weighs about 31 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
