The number stamped on the part is 11257540066; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7540066. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Piston with rings and pin. BMW has since replaced it with 7560670.
It fits every E46 body style (316i, 316ti, 318i and 318ti, 2004), with the N45 or N46 engines.
BMW draws it on the Crankshaft-Pistons (11_3186) diagram. BMW lists the quantity used as “as required”. It weighs about 390 g (0.9 lb).
