The number stamped on the part is 07129904259; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9904259. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Group 12. It supersedes the older numbers 0390499, 9904912, 9904974 and 9919932, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 1992–1999), with the M43 engine — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe and touring (316i, 316i 1.6, 316i 1.9 and 318i, 1997–2001), with the M43 engine.
