The number stamped on the part is 54128185083; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8185083. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Sliding Roof / Folding Top parts. It supersedes the older numbers 8132351, 8132352 and 8169709, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Sliding Lifting Roof Drive (54_0175) and Sliding Lifting Roof Drive (54_0176). It weighs about 154 g (0.3 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
