Oil for manual gearbox MTF LT-2 — a genuine BMW part, number 83 22 0 309 031. The number stamped on the part is 83220309031; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 0309031. You will find it on our Car Care & Detailing shelf, under Paint / touch-up sticks. It supersedes the older numbers 7533513 and 9408942, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 5 diagrams, among them Gearbox oil (83_0282) and Gearbox oil (83_0512). It weighs about 4.5 kg (9.8 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
