Genuine BMW part 82 79 9 408 628: Muffler clamp. The number stamped on the part is 82799408628; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9408628. You will find it on our Merchandise & Accessories shelf, under Other Universal Accessories parts. It supersedes the older number 9405048, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 0004335.
It fits the E36 touring (316i, 318i, 318tds, 320i, 323i, 325tds and 328i, 1994–1997), with the M41, M43, M51 or M52 engines.
BMW draws it on the Railing/Cross member (03_3143) diagram. BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 253 g (0.6 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
