Genuine BMW part 11 27 7 791 612: Mass compensator. The number stamped on the part is 11277791612; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7791612. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Compensating shaft. It supersedes the older number 7786549, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7793886.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, touring and compact (320d and 320td, 2001–2003), with the M47N engine.

BMW draws it on the Lubrication system/Oil pump (11_3321) diagram. BMW lists the quantity used as “as required”. It weighs about 6.3 kg (14 lb).
