Lock bolt — a genuine BMW part, number 11 21 1 739 272. The number stamped on the part is 11211739272; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1739272. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Crankshaft with bearing.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M44, M52 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 10 diagrams, among them Crankshaft with bearing shells (11_1547) and Crankshaft with bearing shells (11_1563). It also comes in BMW kit Repair kit (8300075).
