This is a genuine BMW intake silencer, part number 64 12 6 900 997. The number stamped on the part is 64126900997; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 6900997. You will find it on our AC & Climate Control shelf, under Other Heater and Air Conditioning parts. It supersedes the older number 0009219, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Single parts f independent heating (03_0911) and Auxiliary heating (64_1230). It weighs about 60 g (0.1 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Installing Set Independ.Heater/Ventilat (0137537).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
