The number stamped on the part is 13641731357; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1731357. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Fuel injectors, starting valves. It supersedes the older numbers 1466394 and 1706162, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 1992–1999), with the M40 or M43 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 14 diagrams, among them Valves/Pipes of fuel injection system (13_0233) and Valves/Pipes of fuel injection system (13_0267). BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 90 g (0.2 lb).
