10 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW illuminated ring, part number 51 16 2 493 684. The number stamped on the part is 51162493684; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2493684. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Mirrors, trims, storage compartments. It supersedes the older number 8222181, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (318i, 320i, 323i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M43, M44, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 8 diagrams, among them Storing Partition Cover (51_2369) and Storing Partition (51_3086).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
