Genuine BMW part 24 22 1 421 780: Hollow gear wheel with carrier. The number stamped on the part is 24221421780; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1421780. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older numbers 1219510, 1219511 and 1219512, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M50, M52, S50 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them A5s310z Planet Wheel Sets (24_0661) and A5s310z Planet Wheel Sets (24_1199). It weighs about 1.2 kg (2.6 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
