Hex nut with plate — a genuine BMW part, number 16 13 1 178 905. The number stamped on the part is 16131178905; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1178905. You will find it on our Fuel System shelf, under Ventilation, emission monitoring. BMW has since replaced it with 7305178.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 12 diagrams, among them Starter (12_0414) and Starter (12_0583).
