This is a genuine BMW hex Bolt, part number 23 00 7 519 717. The number stamped on the part is 23007519717; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7519717. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 9903656, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (316i, 316ti, 318i and 318ti, 2001–2004), with the N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.

BMW draws it on 11 diagrams, among them Transmission mounting parts (23_0893) and Transmission mounting parts (23_0972). BMW's catalog calls for three of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb).
