04 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW handle, part number 51 21 1 923 996. The number stamped on the part is 51211923996; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1923996. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 1924679, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them Door handle front/lock/key (41_0558) and Door handle front/lock/key (41_0559). It weighs about 45 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
