This is a genuine BMW guide tube, part number 23 11 7 551 766. The number stamped on the part is 23117551766; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7551766. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Housing with cover. It supersedes the older number 7509745, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7551719.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on the GS6-85BG gearbox components (23_0977) diagram. It weighs about 116 g (0.3 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
