This is a genuine BMW guide sleeve 3RD and 4TH gear, part number 23 23 1 228 479. The number stamped on the part is 23231228479; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1228479. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 1202734, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.

BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Getrag 262 Gear Wheel Set, Single Parts (23_0403) and Getrag 262 Gear Wheel Set, Single Parts (23_0430). It weighs about 950 g (2.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
