This is a genuine BMW fuel strainer bracket with guard, part number 13 32 1 734 720. The number stamped on the part is 13321734720; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1734720. You will find it on our Air Intake shelf, under Other Fuel preparation and control parts. It supersedes the older number 1734053, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318i, 318ti, 320i, 325i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M50 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Fuel Supply/Filter (13_0362) and Fuel pipe (13_0604). It weighs about 240 g (0.5 lb).
