Genuine BMW part 51 72 8 196 291: Front door seal. The number stamped on the part is 51728196291; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8196291. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 8196104, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 compact (318ti, 1995–1999), with the M42 or M44 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Door weatherstrip, front (41_0011) and Mucket / trim, entrance (51_2177). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 1.3 kg (2.8 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
