This is a genuine BMW front backrest net, part number 82 40 9 402 893. The number stamped on the part is 82409402893; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9402893. You will find it on our Merchandise & Accessories shelf, under Other Universal Accessories parts.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (318i, 320i, 325i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M50 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Retrofit, net bag at seat backrest (03_2653) diagram. BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 431 g (1.0 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
