30 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW fillister head screw, part number 41 61 8 172 499. The number stamped on the part is 41618172499; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8172499. You will find it on our Exterior Body shelf, under Other Bodywork parts. It supersedes the older number 0151433, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 6959923.
It fits the E36 convertible (318i, 323i, 328i and M3, 1994–1999), with the M43, M52 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 15 diagrams, among them Single Components for Trunk Lid (41_0055) and Trunk Lid/Closing System (41_1618). BMW's catalog calls for four of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 10 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
