05 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW fan belt, part number 32 42 1 717 011. The number stamped on the part is 32421717011; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1717011. You will find it on our Steering shelf, under Other Steering parts. It supersedes the older number 1469253, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1717013.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Hydro Steering-Vane Pump (32_0225) and Hydro Steering-Vane Pump (32_0232). It weighs about 60 g (0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
